Jenny is horrified by the enormity of the situation. The virtual
database which holds the vast quantities of Gatekeeper knowledge
has been corrupted. Who can have infiltrated this, the most secret
of ancient orders?
The young Gatekeeper sneaks back to Medieval England to
investigate, but these are dreadful times. The Hundred Years' War
is raging in France and England is seething with treachery and
intrigue. Jenny has to rescue an Earl from two attempted
assignations even when she, herself, becomes the suspect and
suffers in the castle's torture chamber before she can escape.
During these travels through time, she observes one stranger who
intrigues her. He has some understanding of magic but it is not
derived from jenny's evil nemesis from the past, Rudigor. In modern
time Grimbald is a major player in a modern mob of German criminals
called die Kompanie, The Regiment. At the same time he
plays an important role in a Medieval regiment of Knights Templar.
They are trying to find the location of tones of gold and silver
stolen by the earlier brethren from the Al Aqsa mosque on the
temple of King Solomon. He is also behind the plots against the
Earl of Norfolk and the person who is trying to save the nobleman's
life - Jenny.
What is Grimbald actually up to and has he been able to
infiltrate the Gatekeeper ranks and corrupt their vital
intelligence? It takes all Jenny's ingenuity to stumble on the
answer and, when she finds it, it is totally unexpected.
